Black Belt over 60

This page is for anyone that has been envolved in Martial Arts for over 30 years but may never have achieved Black Belt Status

The following are the guidelines agreed to by the board.

1   The student must have three witnesses to attest to his/her many years of training. The witnesses must be from
individual clubs without affiliation to each other.

2   The requirements must be completed within 12 months of starting.

3   Submit a 500 word essay on his/her martial arts experience or journey.

4   Show 10 self-defense moves with a partner (can be done individually over a six-month period.)

5   Show a high-level kata in front of two or more of the instructors grading the candidate. The kata chosen must be approved by at least two of the instructors involved in the grading.

6   The student must still be doing some sort of physical training but not necessarily martial arts.
